Symptoms, Diagnosis, and Cause of Down Syndrome.
SYMPTOMS:
There are many different symptoms of
having DS. Usually people who have DS
have a flat face, shorter neck, and upward slanting eyes. But these are just some of the physical problems.
How its diagnosed: You get diagnosed with DS usually when you are still in the uterus. Blood test and ultrasounds aren’t just for DS test are used to see other abnormal problems in the baby. That might have be effected because of DS.
Cause of Down syndrome: Usually you would have 23 pairs of chromosomes, but with DS (Down syndrome) you have an extra pair of chromosome 21. “Instead of having 46 chromosomes and 2 sex chromosomes, you have 47.” (unsigned).
